I stumbled upon this at work today while I was looking for some inspiration on dribbble.com. I was so excited when I found it! Now I can just send this to people when they ask me why it is bad to use Comic Sans as a type face or any of the other terrible fonts out there! I love the functionality of this website as well as the content, and design. I think it is awesome! Check it out!

Calgary Farmers

What a great poster series!

I think this add campaign is really poor but not because it isn't produced well. As most of you know it is a copycat  based off of Apple which has some of the best advertising out there. It was a bold move because Apple did it is so well the first time only a few years ago. T-Moblie's reproduction did not match up. It only makes me think of how great Apple is. They are saying that they think Apple advertising is great by copying them, but then they go and say a bunch of negatives that indirectly point at Apple. They are contradicting themselves.

          I think that T-Mobile thought that pointing out the problems with there competitors would gain them more business and make consumers have a higher image of them, but instead it made many more people think about why they like there competitors. The ad didn't help you retain the reasons why you should like T-Mobile. It is kinda like what they say in the movie Inception, if you tell people not to think about elephants, what you do, you think of elephants. Apple has such a strong love group that now some of those people simply don't like T-Mobile for poking fun at Apple. This ad always leaves me thinking, "What was the point of that? Do they really think that people are going to give up their iPhones and switch to T-Mobile because of this add?" The add offers no compelling argument.  

Paperchase

I have always LOVED notebooks, planners, binders, cards, and all sorts of things like that since I was little. My mom would take me to buy school supplies and I would spend hours finding and organizing the perfect notebooks. So weird I know – but I love it! So when I was in London I found this store called Paperchase. It is the best store ever! It has the COOLEST things! Everything is so well designed and well made – It is hard not to love! I am so sad you can't find their stuff here in the US and the website really doesn't do there products justice. I guess I will just have to go back!

I have always admired Coca-cola's Advertising.  They are always coming up with new ideas. They are one of the most recognized symbols around the world. They're commercials and advertising are so creative and interesting. They don't try and just sell you coke the whole time, they entertain you, show you something cool, and is says coke.  I think that is great because everyone know what coca-cola is and they have a huge brand loyalty, so they would necessarily have to advertise all the time but they do in so many ways that are creative and interesting it just makes you like coke even more. I love it.

Communication Arts

This magazine is awesome! If any of you don't already have a subscription go get one today – Commarts.com – I subscribed about a year ago when a friend recommended it to me. Now I look forward to it every other month when it comes in the mail. Each issue is a collection of either the best typography, design, advertising, illustration, or photography. What is better then that!? Each issue is like a little book of inspiration! I love seeing what creative things people come up with all around the world! I look at it when I am feeling short of ideas or want to get creative! Seriously go check it out if you haven't already! 

Motion Graphics

I love this for a few reasons

1. I think that the message is important

2. It is executed very well

3. The message is strong and makes you want to act

4. Very creative!! It uses only motion graphics to display a message for 2:07 and you never get board. 

New Way of Thinking

Since I have started my blog I haven't really gotten into it... well that is about to change -Things That I love- is what my blog is going to be about. Since my favorite things are usually well designed that is what I am going to focus on. I will post things that inspire me, make me think, and want to be a better designer. Enjoy!

Studio Art

This is some of my studio art. It is work that is very true what I do and what I love. I am pretty sure that most of it turns out to look ok becasue I do it for fun. If I am worried about something looking good it never does. I have learned that it is best just to do whatever I feel like without worrying about the end. Enjoy!

Beginning

To be very honest I am not sure what I want to put on my blog. Actually till about midnight yesterday I thought that blogging was a waste of time, an excuses to live through someone else life, and to make yours look a lot better then it actually is. We will see once I get the hang of it if my mind changes more then it already did. Its just the Beginning!
